There are a number of great diving opportunities that you can enjoy in Perth for those of you who love the water and seeing all that it holds. From shore dives to boat charters where you can travel out to sunken shipwrecks and coral reefs, Perth is one of the best places on the Australian coastline where you can experience wonderful diving for yourself.

Many easily accessible diving sites lie just off shore where you can dive right into the water from the shoreline and make your way out to dive sites where there in a whole other underwater world waiting to be discovered. Locations like Jerratt Road, Burn Beach Rock and The Lagoon are all great places for you to enjoy some diving and the kids can easily snorkel around for themselves as well.

Local diving charters leave every day, weather pending, for some of Western Australia’s finest dive sites, where you can swim through sunken wrecks and ships and discover coral gardens, moray eels, sharks, reef fish, turtles, dolphins and mantra rays. The waters around Perth provide great visibility for pretty much most of the year so you are never going to want to surface to the top. With the HMAS Perth that lies just off Albany to the Gemini Wreck which sits at 30 metres and Key Biscayne at 26 you will have plenty of diving choices to choose from.

There are day charters that you can book onto as well as overnight live aboard charters that you can join that travel out for a few days for those of you who just can’t get enough of diving. From day dives to night dives you can see the reefs and beautiful world that lies beneath the water level in all its glory. Just off the coast of Perth lies Rottnest Island which offers temperate waters, an abundance of marine life and limestone reefs with caves that really are a must see and Marmion Marine Park which is located between Trigg Island and Burns Beach and spans over an about 20kms in length the whole family will have fun here. And for all experienced divers the Rottnest Ships Graveyard is a great place for night dives where you can make your way through the sunken wrecks, old oil rigs and ferry’s that have been laid to rest here to create a beautiful artificial reef.
